Welcome to OysterFest 2011

We'd like to explain why Skookum Rotary is here. This event was created to raise money for our community good works, keeping with Rotary’s mission of “Service Above Self.”

Every year, thanks to you, OysterFest’s proceeds: fund college scholarships; provide money for local food banks; sponsor kids’ sports; support adult literacy; run a county-wide science fair; buy water quality education curriculum; and support other social service needs for teens, victims of domestic violence, cancer patients and senior citizens. Skookum Rotary’s Academic Excellence program celebrates the top 10 percent of eighth graders by taking them to college for a day. Skookum Rotary built a picnic shelter for a newly renovated city park, and sponsored a micro-economic project in South Africa.

Amazing… this is all done by VOLUNTEERS!  Collectively we volunteers represent more than 50 Mason County nonprofit groups—schools, churches, charities—serving every kind of community need.  So, while you are eating and drinking your way around OysterFest, please know Skookum Rotary appreciates your generosity. Every dollar you spend is used, at least four-fold, for community services.
